Adams Resources & Energy, Inc., through its subsidiaries, engages in the marketing of crude oil, tank truck transportation of liquid chemicals and dry bulk, and exploration and production of oil and gas in the United States. Its Marketing segment purchases crude oil, and arranges sales and deliveries to refiners and other customers primarily onshore in Texas, Oklahoma, North Dakota, Michigan, and Louisiana. This segment operates 156 tractor-trailer rigs and maintains approximately 120 pipeline inventory locations. The company's Transportation segment transports liquid chemicals and dry bulk on a for hire basis in the continental United States and Canada. It operates truck terminals in Houston, Corpus Christi, and Nederland, Texas; Baton Rouge and St. Rose, Louisiana; and Mobile, Alabama, as well as 308 truck tractors. This segment also owns and operates 558 tank trailers. The company's Oil and Gas segment explores for and develops oil and natural gas properties primarily in the Permian Basin of West Texas and the Haynesville Shale.
